American River Levee Award

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers Sacramento District and its contractor, Magnus Pacific Corporation, have been awarded the American Society of Civil Engineers Sacramento Section – 2012 Flood Control Project of the Year award – for their work on an American River levee.
RGD was hired by Magnus Pacific to monitor noise and vibration levels as per U.S. Army Corps of Engineers specifications. RGD’s work involved deployment of seismographs and sound level meters between the construction area and existing residences to continuously quantify noise and vibration levels. Weekly reports were provided to the contractor who in turn, submitted the reports to the Corps of Engineers.  The project also included nighttime construction activities.
